Some of the most popular features that we have integrate into clients sites are listed below.

  • A Content Management System – Enabling you, (or your staff), to change and upload pages / pictures, without needing to include a web designer.
  • A News Feed – Often placed on the home page, is a great way of keeping people, (and constituents), up to date with the latest news.
  • A Blog – Similar to a news feed but more in-depth. Also have the option of allowing visitors to comment on articles posted, (all comments can be moderated of course), enabling you to easily hear the views of the public.
  • Picture Effects – When a picture is clicked upon, it will enlarge to fit the screen while simultaneously blacking out the page behind. A smart, easy way of bring more attention to your photos and giving your website a more professional look.
  • Google Maps – Have a interactive Google map embedded into your webpage. Can be useful for showing where something is or highlighting an area.
  • YouTube Videos – With more and more politicians on YouTube more and more it makes sense to be able to embed the videos directly into your website.
  • Twitter updates -
  • Advanced SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) – Not something you’ll be able to use directly, but something you’ll defiantly be grateful for. We do everything we can to make sure your name, (and target keywords) come as high up search engine rankings as possible, therefore driving more traffic to your site.

Of course, that is not all we offer. We can help set up may advanced features, from forums to automated backups to IP loggers. If you wish to know more, simply send us an E-Mail and we’ll almost certainly be able to help.

The Process

We try and make the entire process of launching your website as stress free as possible. To start the design process the first step is to establish exactly what sort of website you’re looking for. Firstly we need to know how you plan on using it. For instance, do you simply require three static pages with some pictures and contact details? Or are you looking for a more complex solution, involving blogs, twitter feeds etc.

The next stage is to establish if you had any sort of design in mind. Left menu, top menu, one column, two column etc. Normally, at this stage people point out other websites they’ve seen and request a layout similar but with some modifications. This is particularly useful as it gives us a clear idea as for what you are looking for.

Once we’ve established the sort of design you are looking for we then try and draw up a detailed list of what you wish to appear on the website. For example, number of pages, news feed, maps, youtube, twitter etc.

Once we’ve gathered all the initial information we then go away and design a rough mock-up of the site, known as the ‘alpha stage’. This site has no pictures or real text and very few working pages; it is entirely to test out your reaction to the design, style, fonts, headers etc.

After communicating with you on the Alpha Stage and making any adjustments we then proceed on to the Beta Stage. This is where we implement the entire site framework. We’ll setup any blogs or specialist code, get any effects working, and create all the required pages as well as placing any pictures or text.

Once the Beta stage is finished the site is nearing completion. Once again, we bring the site to you and make sure you’re happy with the features, layout, styling etc. When everyone is happy with it we move towards the final stage and the handover. The final stage is where we extensively test the site for bugs e.g. check all the links, spelling, making sure it looks the same in all browsers etc. We also submit the site to search engines, and make sure any & all passwords are changed to be more secure. If there is a backend to the site we’ll also train you on how to use it. The site is then considered live.

After a site has gone live we normally allow five business days where a client can request minor changes for no fee.

After Care

To us, website design doesn’t stop as soon as your site is up and running.

We pride ourselves on our after care commitment, because we know that today’s web is all about dynamically changing pages and keeping ahead of the trends, so regular changes to your website are important.

On all the sites we design, we always keep in touch with our clients. Initially, we E-Mail you around a week after the site has gone live, just to check that everything is working and you’ve got to grips with everything. After that, (providing our client hasn’t E-Mailed us first of course), we have a ‘One Month’ follow up E-Mail. From then on we usually keep in contact every two to three months, to check if they want anything altered or added or in rare cases to fix a glitch.

Once the site has gone live and has been submitted to search engines, any changes or alterations will have to be charged for. However, we do offer an after care service, whereby for a small annual fee we will spend one day a month caring for your site. Whether it’s uploading pages, changing pictures or reviewing and improving your Google rankings. Not only is this more cost effective for you but also improves our efficiency in maintaining your site.

The on-going maintenance of a website isn’t an easy task, but it is one we take very seriously. Whether you want us to maintain it monthly or not we are always happy to make alterations.

Hosting

We are more than happy to take care of any hosting and / or domain registration needs for you. We recommended you let us host your website as it makes it easier for us to access, update and implement any changes you may require in the future. Of course, if you already have a domain and / or web space and don’t want the hassle of moving it we will happily work with that and upload any files to your existing account.
